Let's talk about sweet cravings...
Everyone talks about them like they are evil. And something we should be afraid of...but honestly they are our body's way of telling us something's off. Usually that we are running low on energy.
But, there are many reasons we crave sweet things: hormones/menstrual cycle, lack of sleep, beginnings of getting sick, stress levels are high, not eating enough carbs during the day, and low on B vitamins and zinc.
Many people say they notice their sweet cravings go down when they drink Shakeology and it's because of the high levels of B vitamins, zinc, and magnesium. PLUS the shakes are sweet so they help stave off that desire.
But also getting enough sleep is a BIG one. I know when I'm craving sweets at night it's because my body is tired--it is craving "energy" and it knows sweets are quick energy.
After being sick, I'll crave sweets a lot because it is needing energy to recover-our body gets tired from fighting off illness. So after I'm sick, I'll take one day and carb load A LOT. And then slowly try to get back on track after.
